We Buy Timber

The most valuable tree species we buy are walnut and white oak, which are in high demand due to their premium qualities and versatility in making products such as furniture and flooring. Other valuable hardwoods include red oak, maple, cherry and ash.

The process usually takes a few weeks from our initial visit to when you receive payment. Once you contact us, we schedule a visit to assess your timber. After the evaluation, we will provide you with an offer. Upon acceptance, we coordinate all cutting and transportation logistics, ensuring a seamless transaction followed by prompt payment.

We generally look for mature trees at least 50 years or older because they offer the ideal size and characteristics required for the high-quality timber that our clients need. Younger trees generally yield a lower volume and quality than what aligns with our needs, making mature trees more desirable for our operations.

Unfortunately, we do not buy trees that are already cut. We need standing timber to ensure the trees meet our quality standards before we harvest them. If you're unsure about the suitability of your standing trees, contact us for an evaluation.

We do not buy softwoods such as pine, fir, or conifers. We focus exclusively on hardwood species like walnut, white oak, maple and cherry. Softwoods don't meet our clients' lumber quality needs, so we avoid them.

We generally look for large mature trees with a diameter of 12 inches or more at chest height. Trees of this size produce more usable timber, making them more valuable. However, depending on the overall quantity and quality, we may consider smaller trees of highly desirable species, such as walnut or white oak.

Once the trees are cut and transported, we pay the agreed-upon value of the logs based on their species, size and condition.
